Rastafari Rootzfest was established as part of the ongoing lobby in Jamaica fighting for the political legitimacy of the ganja plant and its use by Rastafarians.
The inaugural Rastafari Rootzfest in 2015 was the first ganja-exempt event to be held in Jamaica. Earlier that year, the island’s government amended the Dangerous Drugs Act and legally recognized the sacramental and religious rights of the Rastafari community to use and possess marijuana.
The amendment also enabled the creation of a legal medical marijuana industry in Jamaica.
Exhibitors, growers and attendees will have the opportunity to network with stakeholders in the local and global cannabis community.
